Local pasture raised pork from our farm at our best price for an affordable feast! Buying a whole or half hog can be a bit daunting but it really helps the farmer (sell the same amount with less labor) and you (low stress, cost effective, and you can get some customization! Stock up for the season with a purchase that helps take care of meal planning, budgeting, and gives you delicious, healthy, local pork for the whole year! Or buy a portion and split it with friends, family, and neighbors to also get community included in the bargain!
A whole hog usually weighs around 100 lbs and will need about 3 cubic feet of freezer storage.
Here’s how ordering "hanging weight" works:
1.You put in your order (Yay!)
2. We get in touch to pick a butcher date that works for both of us. You can place your order any time and reserve as far ahead as you want. We process one to two times per year in the fall/winter and appointments are first come first served.
3. After the butcher date, we let you know the weight of your animal and update your invoice. The price is charged on the "hanging weight" or the weight of the half while it is hanging in the cooler before butchering
4. You call the butcher with your cutting instructions. If you’ve got questions about step 4, give us a call and we can help!
5. When it's ready you can pick it up directly from the butcher (usually in Shreve Ohio) or we can coordinate convenient pickup. We can also do home delivery for $50. You can pay by cash, check, or card, at pickup or delivery!
6. You feast upon your bounty for months to come!
